Twinsie Tuesday - Words

Not Sponsored/No Samples

I promise I'll get back on track this week with something other than books, I've had a mental block lately but I've lots of ideas. I was editing old posts to remove pictures and somehow ended up publishing a couple of old posts again.

For Twinsie Tuesday this week, the prompt was "words". I was stumped, the only thing I could think of was Newspaper Print Nails, but I've never done them before. I googled, and found out that I could use almost any kind of rubbing alcohol as a way to transfer ink to my nails, so I grabbed some Isopropyl Alcohol (great for cleaning makeup brushes) and gave it a go!

Finally, the Sunday paper came in useful. Hallelujah.

I used a base of Essie's Take it Outside. One coat was lots to cover my nail. Then, I dipped each nail into the alcohol. I did one at a time. While my nail was still wet, I pressed a piece of the newspaper down on it. Some of the nails turned out better than others, I really like how the thumb turned out and I'll definitely try this again! You need a topcoat or the print will rub off.

Excuse the tiny middle nail, I caught it in the door yesterday and broke it. Dipping that finger straight into alcohol was an experience...
