Despite owning an obscene amount of lip products from butters and balms to creams and salves - I've always had a problem with dry lips. I don't mean slightly dry - I mean incredibly painfully dry. The last time it happened was about two weeks ago. I have a picture to show you what I mean - it's not gross, don't worry.
They were generally dry, tight, sore, and any kind of lip colour looked awful. I'm a bit of a divil for picking at them too, which usually ends up in them cracking further, then bleeding. I don't know whether it's a central heating issue or what, but sometimes they're as bad in the Spring/Summer as they are in Winter. Enter my holy grail lip repair product:
The Vichy Aqualia Thermal Soothing & Repairing Balm is just magic. It's not a new product, it's been around a while, but it's genuinely better than any balm I've ever tried before, and I've already repurchased it more than once. It's not expensive, I got a backup yesterday for €3.95 in the local chemist. It doesn't irritate, it's suitable for sensitive skin, and it's not heavy, greasy or waxy on the lips.
It consistently repairs and restores my lips within an incredibly short space of time - whenever my lips need a bit of TLC, I keep it beside me during the day and reapply whenever I think of it. After about a week, I swap to a lip butter to keep them moisturised. I don't do the whole 'exfoliate with toothbrush' thing because frankly, I never think of it. This was the condition my lips were in this morning, without any product whatsoever.
The stuff is just fantastic, I can't recommend it enough.
I have the same problem with mine, will have to try this out for sure, there is a big difference in your before and after pictures. thanks for sharing x

ReplyDeleteI couldn't either, it's genuinely brilliant! It was €3.95 in an independent chemist, it can't be much more expensive that that anywhere else x

DeleteI love it, lip saviour! One of the best x
ReplyDeleteThat looks great, must make a mental reminder to pick this up some day! Did you ever try any of the Body Shop lip butters? I quite like those, but they can be a bit on the pricey side.
