I know that the 'Day in the Life' post is part of some kind of bloggers challenge (that I'm not doing) but I thought it was a good idea for a post and a good way to show ye what I got up to at the weekend. I picked Bank Holiday Monday as the day to cover, because basically, my usual Monday-Friday is incredibly boring - cooking, cleaning, helping with homework, etc. Nobody needs to read that. Here's what I did on Monday!
Because Shane had no school today, that meant no alarm. Yay! But as usual, my two 4-legged alarm clocks out the back were bang on time (and banging on the door) at 8am for food.

To be honest, there was a lot of overpriced shite at it, but I did manage to grab a few bargains - if you're going to a boot sale, make sure you set a spending limit. I brought €10 in coins, no more. Also bring a plastic bag. And haggle! If you're buying DVDs, make sure you inspect them for scratches or marks. Here are the bits & pieces I got - I had to include the Next shoes, because they were such a bargain - I picked them up at the outdoor market in Cavan on Sunday, brand new, in their bosca, for €7.

Mother of Pearl vase (for make up brushes) - 20c. Gilmore Girls Season One boxset - €5. Next shoes (from Cavan) - €7. Floral dish (for rings/earrings) - 50c. Necklace - 50c. Jewellery box - €3.80 |
After, I finished the book I'd been reading:
Played a couple of levels of Mario:
And had a flick through Elle magazine, bought purely for the chance to try Benefit: They're Real! without spending over €20.

Later on, after I gave Shane a bath & put him to bed, I had a look through another module of my nail course:
And then sat down in the sitting room with a mug of Wispa hot chocolate (addictive shite) and watched my two go-to TV shows at the minute - the brilliant Cutting It and the gloriously cheesy Knots Landing. Thank you CBS Drama!
When Knots Landing was over, I headed to the leaba where this delicious beast awaited me (no, not the husband):
Ever since Rachelle recommended this pregnancy pillow, I've been dreaming about it. I finally got one last Friday, and OH, MY GOD. The difference in comfort is unbelievable. I still grunt like a sow when I have to get out of the bed five times a night to pee, but my back isn't half as sore and I no longer have to do this to try and launch myself out:
Awesome.
There you go - A Day in the Life of moi. Pretty much one of the lazier ones!
Loved this! How does the preggo pillow work? Do you wedge it underneath your back? I'm not pregnant, nor have I been, but I have awful back trouble. Nothing like a cosy bed to settle into!
ReplyDeleteDanke! I sleep on my side and shove the bottom of it between my knees, it just stops me from flopping over on my stomach and it keeps my hips in line & takes some of the back pressure off, I've really noticed a lot less lower back pain with it & I think it'll be in the bed forever and ever! It was €26 in Argos, 376/8789 x
DeleteUgh, so jealous you have that Mario, I have yet to shell out for it! Did you enjoy Gone Girl?
ReplyDeleteI got it second hand in Gamestop, no way would I buy a 3ds game full price, madness! I did, I really enjoyed it, thought the ending was a little rushed but it was a great read and I'd recommend it!
