Marc Jacobs Diet Coke Inspired Nails

Hi!

Earlier this year, Marc Jacobs was announced as Diet Coke's new Creative Director for 2013, following in the footsteps of Jean Paul Gaultier and Karl Lagerfeld. He designed these three bottles, based on the evolution of women's fashion & empowerment through the 80's, 90's, and 00's. Here are the three designs:

We don't get the glass bottles where I am (unfortunately) but we do get the cans and the cute labels on the plastic bottles. This one came from a 2 litre bottle:

I really love the combination of colours on this - grey is one of my favourites for spring, so I saw the nail potential the minute I saw this bottle. Here's what I used:

L-R: Essence Redvolution; Sally Hansen Cherry Cherry Bang Bang!; Models Own Snow White, Barry M Black.

The base colour is Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure Dorien Grey (picked up in Dealz, bargain!). The dots were made with a cotton bud (or a Q-tip, if you have no idea what a cotton bud is).

I'm not sure I like the way the bird turned out, but I definitely love the combination of the polka dots & the bow, so I'll be doing that again with different colour combinations.

Have a great Saturday,
