The UK version of the X Factor is back on our screens tonight, and as much as I hate reality TV (with the exception of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, it's like an addiction, someone please upload Episode 4) I never miss the X Factor. I think it's because I genuinely love singing and I love music in general. I don't buy into the whole sob-story backed with Leona Lewis/Westlife aspect, but I do love watching people sing.
In honour of that, I'm going to pick one of the songs I would sing if I ever had an audition. This is a song I've sang hundreds of times (usually either at karaoke or just in the kitchen) and it's one of the songs that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Plus, it has Slash.
Ladies and Gentlespoons, Sweet Child O' Mine.
I am not, by any stretch of the imagination, a fan of Axl (or William) Rose, but nobody can deny he was one hell of a talent in his day. GnR are still one of my favourite bands, and this is still my favourite karaoke song (complete with pint-drinking during Slash's solo) by a country mile.
I remember this one time (
Enjoy the music, enjoy the X Factor (if you watch), enjoy your Saturday Night!
