31 Day Nail Polish Challenge: Day 9

Hey! Today called for Rainbows. After much deliberation (Should I paint each nail a different colour? Should I paint Zippy and Bungle on my nails? Should I do little rainbows?), I decided to go the old fashioned route and paint actual rainbows. This is the first bit of freehand nail art I've done so far in this challenge, so go easy on me!
Firstly, let me take complete advantage of the situation and post a picture of a fab rainbow I managed to capture last year:

Gorgeous. I used to be obsessed with rainbows as a kid, I spent more hours trying to walk to the end of it to find the pot of gold....... anyway, back to the nails. I'll go through the polishes I used first. I forgot to include my base colour, which was Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream, but here are the rest:

L-R: Betty Boop (unnamed); Essence 'Watch Out!'; Essence 'Sundancer'; Rimmel 60 Seconds 'Sky High'; Essence 'Underwater'; Barry M 'Indigo'; Catrice 'Plum Play With Me'; GOSH 'Gold', Natural Collection Nail Tip Whitener.

Here's the look I came up with originally (all pictures indoors, again - I think we had approximately three hours of actual daylight today):

Gick, isn't it? Those bloody Betty Boop nail polishes bleed like hell, and my freehand drawing leaves a lot to be desired. As I don't own any nail art pens, I grabbed a regular ballpoint pen to add some definition and try and make this mani into something remotely presentable.

And another one:

This one was so hard! I really, really need practice with my nail art. We shall see what tomorrow brings - gradient, apparently!!

  1. Love the concept! And its not that bad!!!!

  2. Oh it is!! It was hell to get off too, must invest in some nail art pens from good ol' China :D xx

Talk at me!
