31 Day Nail Polish Challenge: Day 7

This is where the challenge starts to get exciting, folks! It's Day 7, which called for "Black and White". Initially, I was just going to do a crackle mani, but where's the fun in that? Instead, I decided to incorporate the crackle but not let it dominate.

Firstly, here's what I used:

L-R - Sally Hansen Insta-Dri (won over at Viva Adonis a few months ago); Betty Boop black nail polish (you can read my post about the Betty Boop polishes HERE); Barry M Instant Nail Effects in Black; Miniature Essie polish in Blanc; Nail art Brush from eBay (you can see the full set in my post HERE); Essence Nail Tips, and some medical tape from the first aid kit - a brilliant tip given to me by the lovely Esther at Fab Fingertips - it makes such a difference to nail art, and it doesn't lift the polish off like some other tapes.

Here's the look:

Gah! The concept is there, but the execution could have been better. That black was an awful choice, it seemed to bleed and mix in with the white no matter how much clean-up I did. Still, not bad for a first attempt if I do say so myself ;-) Here's an outside pic:

What I discovered today: Don't use Insta-Dri on nails if there's the possibility that one colour will bleed. Lesson learned!

See you tomorrow, going to have a think about what I can come up with for the metallics challenge!

S xx

  1. I love the way you came up with something different for each nail!

  2. Thank you! I didn't want to do them all the same, there were so many different ideas flying round my head so I did them all lol x

Talk at me!
