I'd only heard about Banned Books Week this morning and, quite naively, was surprised that such a thing was necessary anymore.

I know that, growing up in Ireland, my parents suffered under ridiculous censorship of film/TV/Books etc but I guess I thought that we had all moved on. It's interesting that you note Ireland currently has no censored books and that no one seems to be complaining. I suppose this is why I didn't think there was an issue, but some of the books on the US list makes me despair - The Hunger Games? Really?

I also never knew that Green Eggs and Ham is nothing but propaganda. LOL.

Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00483596240583276726noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6711575350710344963.post-31919845290924606442014-09-22T16:53:09.608+01:002014-09-22T16:53:09.608+01:00I remember a book club/mobile library type thing c...I remember a book club/mobile library type thing coming to my primary school and everyone went mad for Adrian Mole's Pandora's Box until the teachers copped on and it was removed!!!!
