I have a couple of end-of-year favourite posts coming, so I thought I'd also show you the 10 things that I either regret buying or that I was disappointed with.
Veet In-Shower Hair Removal Cream
This doesn't work. End of story. It smells disgusting and it doesn't remove hair. I tried this on my arms, I followed instructions to the letter, and it couldn't even remove light arm hair - I can't imagine how it's supposed to remove coarser hair. Rubbish.
Hydraluron Moisture Jelly
This did absolutely nothing for me at all, I just didn't see a difference after weeks of using it.
Trilogy Replenishing Night Cream
I bought this after I saw Caroline Hirons talking about it on a video - it was nearly €40 and it's grand - not fantastic. It's a night cream, no different to any other night cream. The worst thing about this for me was that it was so heavily scented, I'm determined to use it all because it was expensive but I'm so sick of the smell.
NYX Matte Finish Setting Spray
Didn't work for me, foundation was patchy by evening time and eyebrows were non-existent when using powder products.
SoSu Nail Polish
Very disappointed with this range - I'm still open to suggestions on how to make these work, unfortunately I haven't seen anyone who has managed to get them to last more than a few days on natural nails. A shame, because the colour range is stunning.
Smashbox Double Exposure Eyeshadow Palette
I completely fell for the hype surrounding this when it was released and I was really disappointed with it. I loved the Full Exposure palette so much, but this is hard to blend and the colours weren't very pigmented at all.
MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation
This looks great for all of a half hour, and then starts to cake. I had actually left this in a drawer earlier in the year and forgotten about it, when I used it again I remembered why I didn't use it - it's really thick and just doesn't work for me.
L'Oreal Miss Manga Punky Mascara
I was a big fan of the original Miss Manga mascara, it gave great thick big black lashes in one coat. This one has a horrible spindly brush and just clumps lashes into groups of 2 or 3 - very weird effect and not nice. It was hard to remove, it felt like glue.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer - Luminous Light
An expensive product that I fell for after seeing hype on social media. I imported it from the States and I was so excited - but I was very disappointed with it. It doesn't blend well, it's slightly orange on me and it's nothing special. I have bronzers from Clarins and Bourjois that are every bit as good if not better. Huge disappointment.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade
When I bought this, I fell in love. I'd never used a cream brow product before and it has transformed my routine. Why, then, is it in my least favourites? Because it went incredibly clumpy. I have loads left despite using it every day for months - I closed the lid tightly, I used it correctly, and yet - it's rock hard. It's a total waste of money when there are better equivalents on the market (NYX, Inglot). I don't expect it to last forever, but for the price I'd have expected to get a little more than a few months out of it.
And that's it! The stuff I definitely won't be repurchasing. My favourites are on the way!
