Sass Perfect Skin Concentrate - It's Fanny-tastic!

Hi!

In this post I will be talking about grooming the whole pubic area, so if that's something you don't want to read about, go! Quickly! Shoo! Back to the 1900s with you! Ah I'm messing - but if you're not interested in feminine grooming, you'd better skidaddle.

Now. I personally don't care what anyone does with their "area", but I'm assuming everyone does some kind of maintenance, however small, unless you want your short & curlies hanging out the ends of your trousers. Hair removal means one thing - regrowth. However the method, be it shaving or waxing, regrowth will happen, and it is a bitch.

It's an especially big bad bitch when you've had a couple of C-sections. When you have a C-section, nerves and muscles are cut (hence the very attractive pouch I'm also left with). The scar in my case was the same scar from my first op that was opened again when I had the twins. It runs along the very top of my "area". Like imagine a triangle bikini bottom - my scar is right across the top line. It's an odd one to describe - I can feel the skin there, but I don't have a hundred percent feeling in it. So when it gets itchy, and I scratch it, I could be easily irritating or tearing skin before I'll feel any relief. It's a horrible feeling, like scratching someone else - it's one of the reasons I really hate the "lady maintenance" and put it off as long as possible.

The first day after shaving, it starts to sting. By day two, I'm walking around like a calf looking for a scratching post. By day three, I'm in full on "does she have crabs?" mode. It is agony. I usually use La Roche Posay Lipikar to relieve the itching but that only lasts so long before I feel like I want to tear the skin off myself.

In May's Glossybox (have a look at the contents here), I received this product:

Because I have no patience for anything, ever, I had looked at unboxing videos before my box arrived. I saw this in a couple of boxes and hoped that I would get it - and I did! It's a gel in a pump, that contains Salicylic Acid, Aloe Vera, and Kelisoft (a hair growth minimizer). I did the "lady maintenance" on Sunday morning, and applied two pumps of the product as suggested right after. I also applied another pump that night, and another one on Monday morning. I wrote this on a Tuesday evening, and I have not scratched. Once. Because I haven't needed to.

It's now a week after I wrote this post (it has been sitting in my drafts) - and I have had little or no ingrown hair issues. No painful red spots, no itching, no problem with regrowth. I actually could not believe that there had been any regrowth at all because I didn't feel any irritation whatsoever. The claim that it "reduces hair growth" is spot on as well, it is most definitely slower.

You don't even know how much this means - seriously - it's amazing. AMAZING. I will absolutely be buying the full size (only €7.29 for 100ml at Boots). I'm gonna say it - HOLY GRAIL.

***UPDATE 2017*** This seems to be quite hard to get - Boot still stock the brand (http://www.boots.ie/search/sass) but this particular product isn't showing. I'd recommend contacting the company via twitter (@wearesass) to find a local stockist.

Sass, you absolute beauties. My scar thanks you.

    1. It's fantastic, Gillian! Apparently you can use it on legs or under arms too, so it's multi-purpose!

  3. Oohhhhh. I have this written down on my phone now to get when I'm next in Boots. Thanks so much for the post! I had a giggle, but in fairness isn't it all something that we suffer with? Fab woman, thanks again :) xx

  4. I saw this in your subscription box review and was meant to add it to my list (I'm also a compulsive list maker!). This sounds like exactly what I need. I'm always at a loss about relieving itching when it comes to 'lady maintenance'... :-)

    1. The Waxperts pads are good too! I've updated this post, the brand is still on Boots but may be just that this product isn't in stock at the moment. I've added a link to their twitter, they're a helpful company so do contact them to see where they are stocked!
