So - we've all heard of supposed "dupes" when it comes to MAC lipliner. Over the past few months I've built up a small collection of both MAC and NYX liners, so I thought I'd do some swatches for you and prove once and for all that there are no dupes. Close, but no cigars. At all.
The problem with "dupes" is that usually, they're shown swatched side-by-side on a hand, or on a bit of paper. Take four of the most popular liners from each brand, swatch them on paper, and they're pretty much bang on:
But on the lips, it's a different story:
Similar, NOT the same. So therefore NOT dupes. Apart from colour differences, both brands offer creaminess and longevity, with MAC lasting a little longer than NYX. Some NYX lipliners have become harder to get hold of than the MAC ones! I stalked Mauve for months before I got my hands on it - I had no problem getting hold of any of the MAC liners at all. If they weren't in stock at Brown Thomas, House of Fraser had them.
Here are the other colours from both brands that I own, including the horribly named Rosy Rim - sounds like the after-effects of a dodgy curry. Seriously, MAC. What were you thinking?!
No dupes here, folks. Very similar - but not the same.
