First Order With Inglot.ie - Eyeshadow Review

Hi!

I've wanted to buy some Inglot shadows for such a long time, but I've never been near a branch. When inglot.ie launched last year, I was delighted! I finally got around to ordering a few eyeshadows after Christmas, so I thought I'd show you which ones I picked.

I bought a square 4-pan Freedom Palette (€8) and four single square shadows (€6 each). Postage was €5, so the total was €37.

The order was delivered by courier (Fastway) within 48 hours.

The palette was much heavier than I thought it would be, which was a pleasant surprise. It feels sturdy and I like the magnetic closure.

The magnets in the base of the palette are really strong, the shadows definitely weren't going anywhere when I popped them in. I'm not sure how this would work out if I wanted to swap shadows, but I suppose I'll cross that bridge when I come to it!

First up - 409 (Pearl). It's a medium chocolate brown colour. (Note - this looks accurate on my laptop but when I checked it on my phone it looks much warmer than it is - the swatches on my skin down the bottom are much, much more accurate for this colour. It's a cool brown, more like the colour of dry cocoa powder, if that makes sense!)

Next - 56 (AMC). This is a mossy green with tiny bits of gold running through it (not visible on the eye).

This one looked completely different on my eyes - it came out much brighter than I expected. I'll still use it, but I was disappointed that it wasn't as khaki as it looked in the pan.

Next up is 406 (Pearl). It's a coppery, bronzey brown.

Last up was the one I was most hopeful for - 423 (Pearl). A medium brown with strong burgundy tones.

This was SO nice on. I don't have any other shadows like it, it was so pretty.

The shadows are excellent value at €6 each - they lasted for hours, until I had to take my makeup off. They blend really well and the colour payoff on all four was excellent.

Here's a swatch on a very zoomed-in weird looking hand:

I found the swatches on the website accurate enough, but I would still google images of other shades if I were going to buy more (who are we kidding, I've a list of about ten more already that I want to get). Beautylish have a nifty tool on their website where you can see product swatches on fair, medium or dark skin before you order. Hours of fun!

I'll definitely order from inglot.ie again, their speed and service was fantastic, the order was packed well, and the palette was excellent value even with the postage on top of the order.

Are there any stand-out shades that you would recommend? I don't like mattes, but I am a savage for a good brown, burgundy or copper.

  1. Ooooh, that green is so nice on you! I think it looks much nicer on than it does in the pan, even. Really gorgeous match. My rec is another green. No idea of the shade name, but it's a stand-out shimmery emerald. Really similar to MAC Humid.

    1. Oh I will google! I'm not going to get any more until I've hit pan on at least one of these, I have to stop buying stuff. I do love a nice emerald green though!

  3. You picked some great shades Sharon. I've always been curious about Inglot, I never knew they were so cheap. There's an Inglot store in Cork but I've never popped in, I think I may have to now. The mossy green is my favourite shade you got :) x

    1. I'd say the store would be great, at least you could have a look around at the shadows, it's a little annoying that they have no names, it's easy to mix numbers up! x

  7. They all look really pretty on you but the green is so surprising - I'd be sad about it because I do love a nice olive/khaki shade. Still, it's perfect for spring! x

    1. You've pretty much nailed my opinion on it too, I love murky greens but it's my own fault for not looking at enough swatches, I got caught up in the moment! It's okay but I can't see myself getting half as much wear out of it as the others, unfortunately.

  8. I own nothing from Inglot. I think I might have to change that. I always thought they were in the same bracket as MAC but they seem to be a lot cheaper. Thanks for the review.

    1. Thank you, Claire! Karie used Inglot on me for my wedding day, I always assumed they were a high-end brand with a huge price but for €6 each you really can't go wrong with a few basic colours. They have a great selection of mattes too, I'm just not keen on a matte finish.

  10. I got my first Ingot palette in November for my birthday and I love it! I could not believe the pigmentation in the shadows and it is such great value for money, I can not wait to purchase more of them!
