Tested: Sure Women Maximum Protection Everyday Fresh

The product featured in this post was provided free of charge. Opinions are 100% mine.

New on the market is this latest invention from Sure - it's a 48h Anti-Perspirant Deodorant that claims to be.. well, bloody good. It suggests applying this cream-formula Deodorant before bed, so that the formula builds a strong level of protection overnight. It claims that the protection lasts throughout the following day, even after a shower.

I'm not a huge sweater on a normal day, but when I get stressed or I have to rush around, I do find myself in need of a clean top - totally wasn't going to write that sentence, but I'm only being honest. I've often had to change my top after a go around Tesco - given that I'm currently carrying about 3 extra stone on my front, I do overheat really quickly. One situation I also get a bit hot & bothered in is when I've a hospital or clinic appointment and am stuck in a stuffy waiting room for hours. I had an appointment yesterday evening so I decided to put this to the test.

First, here's a look at the consistency:

It applied smoothly to underarms & didn't leave a white mark on my clothes. I put it on after my shower yesterday morning, and left for my appointment at 2pm. I'm going to go into far too much information about sweaty pits here, so you can skip this next bit if it makes you uncomfortable.

9am: Applied.
By 2pm: I was still fresh as a daisy.
By 3pm: I was now in the waiting room about 10 minutes, had rushed to the Credit Union & Post Office, and was still fresh.
By 4pm: Still sitting in the waiting room, slightly stuffy but not sweaty (as an aside, whoever decided to put a smoking area right in front of the open windows of the ante-natal waiting room should be shot).
By 5pm: Bloods done, back to waiting room. This product claimed to have maximum wetness protection, but in all honesty my underarm area was starting to feel a tiny, tiny bit hot. Not damp or clammy, and still smelled fresh.
By 6pm: Finally finished. Not one iota of sweat on my top, although it did feel ever so slightly hot to the touch - not damp enough to be uncomfortable or make a sweat patch.
By 8pm: Still not sweaty. I asked my husband to smell my top. Yep, I went there. He said it smelled lovely and said he'd use it himself.

There you go! I was actually amazed that it worked as well as it did. I can't give any weight to the 48h claim because I had another shower last night to get rid of the half ton of scan gel the consultant threw on me (the stuff was EVERYWHERE).

I've popped this one in the bathroom to use after showering, and I'm going to buy another one tomorrow to pop into my hospital bag. If you tend to sweat when you get flustered like I do, then this is definitely something you will get benefit from. I don't think I'd be bothered with a spray again, to be honest.

I just checked the Tesco website and it's coming up as €6.99, but keep an eye out in chemists, you may find a better price. The fragrance I got to try was 'Everyday Fresh', but it's also available in 'Clean Scent'.

    1. Not sad at all! I wouldn't usually go for a roll on either, but this definitely swayed me, I don't think I'd buy a spray again unless I was stuck & in a hurry!

  2. I've tried Sure before and it just did not last on me at all. I'm a huge nivea fan but it's not always as long lasting as I would hope. Great review xx

    1. I genuinely didn't think this would last p*ssing time on me, not when I sweat after doing the grocery shopping - but it was a complete surprise. x

  4. Love this! I'm sick of beauty bloggers (namely american ones) being so concerned with coming off like princesses - you need to get into the nitty gritty with posts like this.

I always use Mitchum 48 Hour roll on. It's intense. I've smelled like a daisy after exercise.

    1. Thanks Lorraine! I swear to god if I'd had a sweat patch by the end of it I'd have put a picture of that up too. No point in fluting round when there's sweat involved! I've heard of that Mitchum one before and I'm a disaster for not writing things down, I get a mental block when I go into the shop & end up grabbing a spray!

  5. This sounds great, especially since it's so sticky and humid out at the moment anyway. No need to add sweat into the clammy, clammy mix as well! When I saw the photo, I thought it'd be way too thick to be any good, or that it'd stain everything, so I was surprised to see a good review in the end! Definitely curious about it now!

    1. It looks a little thick in the pictures but it applies like a cream, it's great stuff!

  6. This kind of deodorant came out here last year. Like you, I'm not a huge sweater unless I'm stressed. I'm a spray-on kind of person normally. We only have the one brand of this type of 48hr deodorant here. I used it and found that I 'felt wet', and that feeling lasted all day :( So I applied it at night before bed, if I knew I had a stressful day ahead the next day and it was a whole other story and worked a treat!

I still swing between this one and the spray.... lol simply because I often forget I have that one and always reach for the spray....old habits lol and I must say that never in my life did I think I would find myself discussing my pits online.... But here I am lol

    1. I was always a spray person too, but some of the sprays are really uncomfortable or leave marks on my clothes. Great tip about applying the night before, I'm going to try that! As for discussing sweat......nor did I, Alex. Nor did I ;-)
