O.P.I - Get Your Number (Liquid Sand)

Hi!

I recently bought a couple of liquid sand polishes for the first time after swearing I wouldn't go near textured polishes - but they were too nice (and bargainous) to pass by.

The O.P.I ones are a little different to the disgusting lumpy ones that remind me of a pebble dashed wall - they apply really evenly and have gorgeous sparkle. Next on my list to try are the Zoya Pixie Dusts - but for now I'm all about the O.P.I ones.

Here's Get Your Number from the recent O.P.I collaboration with Mariah Carey.

I used three coats over a base coat, but two would have done the job.

The texture is hard to explain - it's a very fine grit with matte and sparkles. Here's a closer look:

You can use a topcoat - it wasn't as thirsty as I thought it would be, one coat of Poshé left it glossy. I used it on the ring finger only to show you the difference between the textures.

It's nice with the topcoat, but nothing special. It looks much more impressive when you leave it as it is. Both this and the other Mariah Carey one I got (Stay The Night) are incredibly long lasting and hard wearing - they each lasted at least 5-6 days without chipping and they stayed put without tipwear or flaking.

I've ordered one from the San Francisco collection, so I'll swatch that one when it gets here. In the meantime, if you want to try some of the Mariah Carey collection, there are selected shades currently available half price at ASOS. The liquid sand minis kit is also available but I wouldn't recommend it - as fond as I used to be of the O.P.I minis, I do think that €12 is still a mental price for a handful of 3.75ml polishes.

    1. I prefer it without the topcoat too! I'll have to go through my stash and see if I can get you to try something super glittery and over the top, I'll have you obsessed yet ;-)

    1. I didn't like any of them when it was first released but they're growing on me! The same happened with the Euro Centrale ones x

  3. I love it! I know that nail polish and ceramic glazes are two very different things... But in saying that, they are both 'paint' lol

I love using glazes with textured effects, and that polish looks soooo similar to a glaze I've used and loved :o)

    1. Paint is paint! My son keeps a collection of my old polishes to touch his toy cars up!!!! I bet it's way more fun to see something coming to life on a piece of art you know you're going to keep forever!
