Order from Nailsupplies.us

Hi!

I'm a big nosey wagon when it comes to hauls and orders, so if you don't like those type of posts, this isn't for you.

For the rest of you - once a year, I love to place one mega polish order with a U.S website. Last year led me to my first Barielle polishes, and some China Glazes that I've used a fair bit since. This year, I decided to stick with the China Glaze polishes because I like the formula, and I also needed a new topcoat.

Last August, I ordered from transdesign.com, but since then, their lowest rate of shipping has increased. Instead, I went over to nailsupplies.us and attacked my wishlist with gusto. Shipping IS expensive - there's no point in pretending it isn't. The lowest rate to Ireland is $28 for up to 9 bottles of polish (any brand) - which equates to around €21 or £18. Consider, though,  the price of the polish (including bang up-to-date collections):

  • China Glaze standard are $2.99 (€2.30/£1.96)
  • China Glaze holographic are $6.45 (€4.98/£4.23)
  • Barielle are all currently reduced from $8 to $3 (€2.31/£1.97)
  • Essie are $5.95 (€4.59/£3.90)
  • Color Club are $8 (€6.17/£5.25)
  • Orly start at $4.25 (€3.28/£2.79)
  • Misa are all currently half price at $3.75 (€2.89/£2.46)
  • Seche Vite is $4.70 (€3.63/£3.08)
  • Poshé super fast drying topcoat (3-free alternative to Seche) is $4.50 (€3.47/£2.95)
I'm not saying that it justifies the huge shipping cost but........it kinda justifies the huge shipping cost.

I placed an order for 9 full-sized polishes on Saturday May 25th and received them on June 4th.

They arrived in a small flat rate box.

They were tightly packed with packing peanuts and some weird foamy alternative to bubble wrap:

They'd also included the box for the Poshé topcoat I bought - did I immediately throw that away or did I assemble it and pop the Poshé in to see what it looked like in the box? Hmm. Anyway...the first layer looked like this:

And underneath, lay this:

The Misa one there on the left was for a friend, but I'll run through the rest of them now.

Bottoms Up and Celtic Sun (both swatched in my recent Neon post).

Glitter All The Way, Pure Joy, and Cast a Spell (which looks suspiciously like a more shimmery Wagon Trail)

Razzle Me, Dazzle Me and OMG a UFO (which doesn't look all that holographic to me).

Poshé Super-fast drying topcoat - the stuff is unreal. Polish is dry to the touch within 10 seconds and I haven't had any shrinkage issues at all. Best of all - no nasty chemicals *coughséchecough*.

I picked up another two on eBay around the same time (China Glaze Skyscraper and Color Club Bright Night) but I'll do a post with them another time.

Altogether, my order came to a grand total of $62 including shipping. That worked out to be €49.51 at the time of ordering - averaging out to a grand total of €5.50 per polish, including shipping.

Not too shabby.

    1. Aren't we just!! It's not a site I'd be ordering off every week, but I really look forward to writing a little list up once a year. €50 wouldn't last long on a night out, at least this way you have some new pretty things to play with! x

  3. I like these posts, mainly because I am nosey :P it would be a false economy to only order two or three when P&P is so much. Makes a lot more sense to order more ;)

Interesting about that topcoat too, to me Seche shrinks, thickens up far to fast and is just a major pain. I have been using the Sally Hansen Insta Dri but it does shrink a little which is a pain. I shall have to look in to the Poshe one :) Thanks for sharing!

    1. The more the merrier definitely applies in this case! I've never used Seche, mainly because I've heard too many bad things about the toluene in it and the shrinkage issues, Poshe is really good x

    1. I could quite happily do it once a month but it's so dear, I try to make one list and then wait a while & see if I still want them! x

  6. I'm not sure I could justify spending that much on the postage. I am planning on stocking up on nail polishes when I head over to America later in the year though

    1. The postage puts me off too, Lyndsey. On the other hand, I can't get China Glaze anywhere near me, and it's almost ten quid per normal polish (not including special editions) on beautybay or other sites, so a haul of 9 polishes would cost me the guts of €80 here! I would love to go to America PURELY to stock up on polishes ;-)x

    1. Love the brand too, even the bottles are so nice! One of my all-time favourites, their collections always have something interesting. It does look like Agro, I'm regretting not picking up a few from the Hunger Games collection because it's a lot nicer than I thought it was! Working on swatches ;-)

  11. Ever since you mentioned that Poshe topcoat I've felt I need to get it... Razzle Dazzle me has to be my favorite, absolutely amazing! I am adding to my wishlist!! It really does work out as such a great price considering CG end up being about a tenner here! Love all your haul

    1. The Poshe is so good, I wish it were easier to get over here! I'm going on an Acetone run on Friday so I'll ask if any of the salon services stock it or plan to, they're really missing a trick by NOT having it! Yeah I know when people hear €20 postage they think insanity, but the polishes are less than €3! Well worth it x
