NOTD: Wet n Wild Disturbia & Essence Holo Topping Please!

Hey!

I hope every Irish person is enjoying the sun today, it's such a rarity to have a nice sunny day! The sun and I are not particularly good friends, so I've taken this opportunity to swatch one of the gorgeous polishes from this AMAZING haul of polish from Jenna:

I have worn Spoiled - Shuffle The Deck (4th on bottom) before but I can't find the pictures! So today, I picked the second one on the bottom, Wet n Wild - Disturbia.

I can't get a proper picture of this in the bottle, it's a dark purple aubergine cream with purple & pink shimmer going through it. The shimmer doesn't really translate onto the nail, until you get it into some direct sunlight!

Inside, with flash (it looked black without the flash)

Outside, direct sunlight
See the shimmer? It's a gorgeous polish, perfect for a purple fiend like myself. One thing that shocked me about this polish - the size and shape of the brush!! It was ENORMOUS. It took me a few tries to get the hang of it, but when I did, I was able to cover one nail with one swipe of the brush and no clean-up needed. Just to show you how big it is, here's the WnW brush beside a Barry M:

You may or may not be wondering what I did with the Barry M - well, I tried some stamping. It didn't work. I added a flower. It still didn't work. I'm not showing it to you. I took it all off, painted the WnW again, and added this baby:

Essence - Holo Topping, Please! is the newest addition to the Nail Art Special Effect Topper range. In the bottle, it looks almost nude/peach - that didn't really effect the base colour I wore, but I don't know if it would show up on a lighter colour. I have to say, I think the original GOSH Holographic ruined all future holos for me. In my mind, that polish was the first and only truly holographic polish I'd seen, so I kinda expect anything with the word 'holo' in the title to be similar. Not so. This is just basically another variation on every other holographic microglitter out there. Still, it's pretty.

Outside, direct sunlight

Look at it in the sun!

Super sparkly. Now, if only I could get someone to follow me around with a ball of sunshine to make it look that good all the time....
