Nail Mail - Featuring New Catrice Polish for Autumn 2012 - VERY Picture Heavy!

Hi!

So, after about two weeks of giving out about my postman (incidentally - we had a different postman this week, if I was suspicious and paranoid I'd be checking the other guy's pockets) Tuesday finally brought some mail after a good week of delays. And boy, was it of the brilliant kind! I wanted to put some swatches up, but as you know I'm in the middle of the 15-Day Nail Challenge so I have no free fingers at the minute (apart from the ones on the lesser-spotted right hand and they are NOT camera ready), so I made use of my trusty practice finger.

First up, the very lovely cuti-clue-les sent me a lovely surprise, and my very first A-England polish - Tristam. It's a beautiful dark navy/purple holo and the application was a dream. I'm really impressed, and I will definitely pick up some more A-England polishes. Thank you Roisin! x

The next package contained some Models Own polishes I ordered for the lovely Chiro, and the third package was from Chiro to me, and oh my god, was it a surprise. I knew she had picked up the Catrice Million Styles Topcoat in 'Godfather of Pearl' for me, but what I didn't know was that she also picked up 3 more Million Styles Topcoats AND all 4 new Catrice Autumn 2012 polishes from my wishlist! I have been obsessed with finding these topcoats since they were released and I could never find any of them! Amazing. Thank you so, so much! x

First up is No Snow Petrol, a gorgeous unusual polish that looks like a plain teal creme in the bottle, but when you hold it up, there's a strong aqua shimmer running through it. Beautiful.

Next is George Blueney, a fabulous dark blue/navy shimmer. It's like 'It Blue My Mind's bigger, tougher older brother. Georgeous (sorry, couldn't resist).

Then we have two that I wasn't all that excited by when I saw the images on the Catrice website, but OH MY GOD. Steel My Heart and Steel My Soul are new 'Brushed Metal Effect' polishes and they're stunning. They dry to a matte finish, and they have tiny microshimmer in them.

Steel My Heart is like a matte Browno Mars with holo microshimmers. It's amazing.

Steel My Soul is possibly the most grown-up polish I've ever owned. It's a taupe colour with an amazing gold shimmer running through it, and it's the perfect Office polish. Fabulous.

On to the Million Styles Topcoats! I swatched all of these over one coat of the black from the Fearne Cotton set I got at Christmas, just a plain black creme.

First is Return of Space Cowboys, a thick purple/aqua duochrome glitter in a dark base. So pretty, and I think the dark base will work really well over other colours.

Natural Light

Sunlight

Next is Godfather of Pearl, one of my lemmings since I heard about the collection! It's just stunning. It's got blue, green, aqua, teal, turquoise - all of the above in a clear base. It's a fabulous polish and I can't wait to play with it!

Natural Light

Sunlight

Third is Holo Que Tal?! Which isn't a holo at all, but a really unusual pink/purple duochrome microglitter. It's really pretty, I haven't seen one like this yet!

Natural Light

Sunlight

Lastly is Have an Ice Day, which is a holo, it's very similar to Nails Inc. Electric Lane topcoat - an insanely holographic glitter topcoat that looks like the night sky over black.

So, there you go. Amazing polish from amazing nail friends. I've said it on twitter already, but fellow nail polish addicts really are the nicest people in the world.

  1. Oh I neeeed some of the million styles topcoats in my life. They look so wonderful. Not having Catrice is definitely in the top 3 things that makes me sad to live in England!

But your spare finger thing is really creepy. Like really, really, is that a prawn or is that a finger creepy. Sorry.

  2. Hahaha my spare finger IS really creepy, it looks like it wandered into my nail polish stash all on its own :) The topcoats are lovely, I never saw them in Ireland, I know some people got them but they were really limited.

    1. I couldn't find them either! I swore blind that they never hit Ireland at all but I know they were in Cork. They might come back, same as the Essence ones!

    1. They are definitely still selling them in Germany because my lovely swap buddy Chiro got them for me last week. I don't know if they were limited edition everywhere? Ireland doesn't get every collection either, there are some Essence collections that still haunt me! x
