Makeup Savvy 15 Day Nail Challenge Day 15: Anything!

Hi!

It's the last day of the 15 Day Challenge, and I want to say thanks to Fee for hosting such a great challenge. I'm following some brilliant new (to me) blogs and I'm inspired by so many of the entries since Day 1.

For today, I was going to use the velvet manicure sent to me by Original Sugar, but all my UK/overseas postage has been really badly delayed and it only arrived on Monday - by which time I'd kinda set my heart on doing a youtube tutorial. I'll be reviewing the velvet manicure either later today or tomorrow.

I knew I wanted to copy a tutorial for the final day, and do something I'd never done before. One of my favourite nail people on youtube is cutepolish, her tutorials are amazingly clear and easy to follow. I picked
her city skyline nails.

Here are the polishes I used:

L-R: Black striper, Essie Blanc, Essence A Lovely Secret, Fearne Black,
Barry M Lemon Ice Cream, Catrice Pool Party at Night, Essence Topcoat

I followed the tutorial as best as I could, and here's what I ended up with:

Slight tipwear there already after only one night, but overall I'm really pleased with it. If I had to do one thing differently, I'd use more purple on the sponge when doing the gradient and I wouldn't be as cautious about trying not to overload it with polish. Clean up was murder, but I could have done with a thicker layer that didn't dry before I got to spread it with the topcoat!

Overall I like it, and I've really loved this challenge. If nobody is sick of the sight of my fingers, I was thinking of doing a '12 Days of Kleancolor' series to show swatches of my new polish?

Can't wait to find another challenge, this has been brilliant!

Have a great Wednesday,

 * On a side note, blogger is really not co-operating with me today so please let me know if photos vanish or if you're not seeing this post properly. S x
