Debenhams Follow-Up

Yesterday, I wrote THIS POST about my bad experience with Debenhams online service.

This morning, I received a call from a PR representative in the UK - a lovely man called David, who was as equally disgusted as I was with the service I had received. He went through my complaints again with me, and as a gesture of goodwill on his and the company's behalf, said that  he would make sure that I got a full refund.

I didn't complain to get something for free - I did it because I feel that it's important to raise your voice when you're not happy with something. For far too long now, we've been accepting less than standard behaviour from various sources, and saying nothing. I've heard Ireland being described as a nation full of people who have the attitude 'sure we can't to anything to change it, so why complain?' a lot in recent times, and I think this is equally disgraceful and sad. If you're happy with something, shout it from the rooftops. If you're unhappy with something, climb that ladder and shout it just as loudly.

Thanks to David who took time to contact me directly very quickly after I posted - and hopefully the next time that courier is paid to deliver something, no matter how small, he treats it with the same respect as a large order.

S xx

  2. I just read your previous post about this - bloody ridiculous!!!!!

Really glad that someone decent finally got in touch with you though and I completely agree about complaining when things just aren't up to snuff. If we keep letting companies get away with shoddy behaviour they'll just sh*t all over us.

Anyway, mini rant over and thank you very much for the follow ;)

  3. Thank you Jenna! God I must look so ungrateful not replying until now, my laptop went on the blink, but am back in the swing of things now - thank you so much! Scarlett it was ridiculous, I actually had to contact them AGAIN on twitter because as of two weeks later, I still hadn't received the refund. Fair play to them for ringing and all, but I don't think I'll be buying from them again - not online anyway.

Thanks for reading & for your comments girls x
